2. Drop that douche
No one douches any longer, so you shouldn’t also. Douching was obviously a phase a number of years ago, however the American College of Obsetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) doesn’t advise that ladies do it. It could actually affect pH levels, minimizing the natural acidity inside the vaginal canal and making bacterial bacterial infections much more likely. While in shower, try a little non-irritating soap on the outside of your vulva and labia, but there’s no need to get inside your vagina itself.
3. Kegels…Kegels forever
You most likely knew that Kegels will be within this list! Kegel exercises, when you squeeze and/or hold your pelvic floor muscles to strength them, are easy to do almost anywhere you are and do wonders to tighten and tone. In addition to getting you a vagina like a vice, Kegels can help prevent or correct urinary or fecal incontinence.
To do Kegels, squeeze the same muscles you’d activate to stop your urine mid-stream (but don’t actually do them while you’re peeing; do them with an empty bladder!). You can do sets of isometric holds, where you squeeze for a few seconds and then relax, or go for quicker, stronger pulses. Work on isolating your pelvic floor muscles when you do Kegels; try not to squeeze anything else, like your anal or abdominal muscles. It helps if you give yourself a trigger that you encounter often during your day, and tell yourself you’ll do your Kegels whenever that trigger happens (for example, when you check Facebook or your texts).
4. Don’t cycle through weight changes.
Putting on and shedding a lot of weight might have long-lasting consequences on your skin, particularly sagging skin where fullness was once. These side effects can occur in your genitals, too. The simplest way to keep your vaginal skin looking young is to prevent gaining and losing a great deal of weight (other than pregnancy weight, which is distributed differently).
5. Have a haircut
While you age, your pubic hair may go gray and get thinner. If you’re unhappy with the changes, an option is to shave it all off. A lot of women say they experience increased sensations without hair, and you might like the way it looks!
6. Dress wise.
Your clothes selections can help-or hurt-your vaginal look and feel. Don’t put on panties or clothes that’s very tight: it will not only chafe your labia and be really awkward, but the truth is you don’t want to be rocking that cameltoe. Refrain from putting on hot or moist clothing for too long, whether it stems from a hot day or a recent workout. You don’t want to marinate in sweaty clothes; it creates an environment ripe for infection. Lastly, try sleeping without undies to “air out” overnight and let your body breathe.
7.Have safe sex
Protecting against sexually transmitted diseases is among the list of best, most effective ways of keeping your lady bits youthful. Condoms protect against STDs like HIV, genital herpes, gonorrhea, chlamydia, and genital warts, all of which can wreak havoc on your vagina’s appearance (among other, more serious health effects). Remember that hormonal birth control only helps with preventing pregnancies, not infections.
