A confident woman gets her happiness from within

Do you find this surprising? Yep, happiness is an important element for confidence because, in order for you to be confident in what you do, you need to first be happy with who you are.

Women brimming with confidence are those that derive their sense of satisfaction and pleasure from their own accomplishments, instead of what other people think of their accomplishments.

These women know that no matter what anyone says, they are never as bad or as good as people say they are.

Using body language

If you want to be confident, your body language is key. First of all, stand tall: a tall stance will always exude confidence so work on being conscious of how you carry yourself throughout the day.

Make eye contact; this gives off enthusiasm in the conversation and makes you feel confident.

Engage in fronting; this simply means aiming your torso towards the person you are talking to and it makes you look engaged in conversation.

Gesticulate; when you talk with your hands, it makes you look animated about the topic. This excitement and enthusiasm come off as confidence about the matter being discussed.

A confident woman doesn’t pass judgment

A confident woman is one that does not pass judgment on others because you know that every person has something to offer, and you don’t need to take other people down a notch in order to feel good about yourself.

Dabbling in comparing yourself to others is extremely limiting and trust me when I say that a confident woman doesn’t waste time sizing other people up and worrying about whether or not you measure up to everyone you meet. There’s really no point if you ask me.

Cultivate the right attitude

One simple way to do this is to embrace your imperfections. This might sound a bit strange but when you recognize your flaws, that attitude can actually make you come off as confident. You need to understand that nobody is perfect and when you attempt to mask your imperfections, it can come off as insecurity so instead of trying to hide your flaws, why don’t you embrace and accept them as part of who you are.

Don’t define yourself by your flaws. Learn to accept the fact that you talk too much sometimes or that something about your physical appearance makes you uncomfortable. It is only a tiny part of who you are.

Confidence shines through when you are aware of and accept your insecurities.

Don’t say yes unless you really need to

A research that was conducted at the University of California showed that the more difficult it is for you to say no, the more likely you are to experience burnout, stress and even depression. A confident woman knows that saying no can be healthy and you should have the self-esteem to make your nos clear. Habits of Confident Women.

When it is time for you to say no, as a confident person in the making, you should avoid phrases like “I don’t think I can” or “I’m not sure.” You should say the no with confidence because you know that saying no to a new commitment honors your existing commitments and gives you the opportunity to successfully fulfill them.

Listen more than you speak

Confident women listen more than they speak because don’t feel as though they have to prove anything. A confident woman knows that by actively listening and paying attention to other people, she is much more likely to acquire knowledge and grow.

So instead of seeing interactions as opportunities to prove yourself to others, why don’t you focus on the interaction itself, because it is actually a far more enjoyable and productive approach to people. Habits of Confident Women.

Seek out small victories

A confident woman likes to challenge herself and compete, even when her effort yields small successes. These small achievements build new androgen receptors in the parts of the brain that is responsible for motivation and reward. This increase in androgen receptors influences the release of testosterone which further elevates your confidence and eagerness to handle future challenges.

When you go through a series of small victories, the confidence boost you get can last for several months. Amazing isn’t it?

Get some exercise

Some of you might giggle a bit at this. After a study was conducted at the Eastern Ontario Research Institute, it was found that women who exercised at least twice a week for 10 weeks felt more confident socially, athletically and even academically. These women also rated their self-esteem and body image higher.

The best part was that, rather than the interesting physical changes their bodies went through being responsible for their confidence boost, it was the instant endorphin-fueled positivity from the exercise that made all the difference.

Don’t seek attention

People are often turned off by women who are desperate for attention. Confident women know that being yourself is so much more effective than trying to flaunt your importance.

Confident women are masters at diffusing attention, and part of knowing how to be confident means that when you receive attention for an accomplishment, you quickly shift the focus to all the people who worked hard to help get you there.

You shouldn’t crave approval or praise because you draw your self-worth from within. Habits of Confident Women.

As Henry Ford once said, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t — you’re right.”
