The Five-month-old conjoined twins, Fatimah and Maryam, who were separated on May 14 at the Federal Medical Centre in Yola, are now discharged.
The twin sisters were separated following a four-hour surgical operation conducted by a team of surgeons led by chief medical director of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Yola, Professor Auwal Abubakar.
The girls were discharged on June 9 after being certified healthy and strong by the doctors. Luckily for the parents, Muhammad Ramat and Fatimah Kellu Adam all bills were settled by the hospital management including their transportation from their residence in Maiduguri.
Photos of the sisters being discharged from the hospital have been shared online with many people congratulating the team who took the responsibility of ensuring the girls live a normal life.
