The daughter of MKO Abiola, Hafsat Abiola, was reported to have taken out time to apologise to President Buhari for any hurt her father or her family might have caused him since the struggle for the actualization of June 12 began.
Hafsat’s apology came just after President Buhari apologized to her family for the annulment of the election that was presumably won by her father.
In her speech, at the June 12th investiture ceremony that took place at the state house, Abuja today, Hafsat said:
“Who would have ever believed, given the relationship that you had with chief MKO Abiola, that you will be the instrument God will use to honour this man and to bring reconciliation and healing to the country.
“You apologised to my family and it touched my heart. You know I lost also my mother in this struggle. So that apology meant so much. Let me on behalf of Chief MKO Abiola apologise to you and your family for anything that he might have done to harm you”.
