Following the kidnap of staff and students of Turkish school in Ogun state, serious manhunt has begun as ordered by the IGP.
According to report, three students, three female supervisors, one female cook and a female Turkish teacher, were abducted on Friday, with two of the students said to be preparing for the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board exam.
According to a source, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, ordered that the rescue mission be led by the elite IGP Intelligence Response Team (IRT) and teh ehad of tis team is the assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Abba Kyari.
“We are combing the creeks around the school and are working on some intelligence reports, which cannot be disclosed so as not to jeopardise the operation. We hope that we will make a breakthrough soon.”
The Ogun State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who spoke to reporters confirmed that the security chiefs were already tracking the abductors.
Reports revealed that the kidnappers climbed the school fence to gain entry into the compound.
They proceeded to digging a portion of the fence close to a swamp which led them to the female hostels, where they kidnapped the victims, first threatening to shoot them dead before forcefully taking them away.
As at press time, the kidnappers are yet to contact anyone.
