Actress Jennette McCurdy, known for her role in Nickelodeon, recently disclosed that her late mother, Debra McCurdy, used to bathe her until she was around 17 or 18 years old.
The 31-year-old former child star has claimed that she never bathed alone until her mother’s battle with cancer and subsequent death in 2013 at the age of 56.
In a recent interview on The Louis Theroux Podcast, Jennette revealed that her mother would remain dressed while washing her hair, cleansing her body, and conducting breast and genital examinations to check for signs of cancer.
These experiences made her feel uncomfortable, although her mother would become emotional when she confronted her about it. This is not the first time Jennette has made disturbing allegations about her late mother.
During an appearance on Red Table Talk in September, she read from her memoir titled “I’m Glad My Mom Died,” where she detailed how her mother forced her and one of her older brothers to shower together until she turned 11.
Despite these challenging experiences, Jennette stated that she maintains a close relationship with her siblings, who have provided love and stability throughout her life, forming a strong bond due to the shared hardships they endured.
