The newly appointed commissioner for Youth & Social Development, Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf (pictured left) has wriiten a letter to the office of the Chief of Staff demanding that she be addressed using her professional title as a Pharmacist.
The letter, titled “Re:Appointment of the newly sworn Honorable Commissioners” was sent out on Wednesday October 21st and signed by the permanent secretary Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Adenle O.F. Read excerpts from the letter below…..
I am directed to refer to the above subject and to inform you that the Honorable Commissioner for Youth and Social Development will like to be officially addressed as Pharmacist (Mrs) Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf. Consequently, any publication or correspondence should be addressed as stated above.
Reactions have trailed this letter as some civil servants argue that her insistence on the use of her professional title is unnecessary while some say she has the constitutional right to demand how she will like to be addressed.
