President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday declared June 12th as the new democarcy day for Nigeria. In a statement he personally signed,the president said May 29th will no longer be regarded as democracy day.
He also announced that the title of Grand Commander of the Federal Republic (GCFR) will be awarded posthumously to the inner of the June 12th 1993 election, MKO Abiola.
Hafsat who is the daughter of MKO Abiola has reacted to this development. Read her statement below:
