Plantains look like bananas, but they are much starchier– and although they have a faint banana-like flavour, but they are bigger in size.
Slice them and fry them for a delicious and simple side dish or snack.
INGREDIENTS
– 4 ripe plantains
– Vegetable oil
– Salt to taste
What you do
Remove the skins from the ripe plantains by cut off the top and bottom then make a slit along the side. Peel the skin off
Slice the plantains into your desired shapes, which could be diagonal, circles, semi-cylinder in bowl. Sprinkle salt on it and toss.
Put some oil in the frying pan just enough to cover the pan. When hot, fry sliced plantain in the oil, one side then the other side until golden brown.
Serve warm.
