The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, announce over the weekend that he would be going to London yet again for further medical treatment. His media aid, Femi Adeshina, later shared that this time, the President’s length of stay can only be determined by his doctors in London.

Given the amount of money being exported to London in the form of Healthcare Costs and service delivery, we are taking a look at five hospitals in Lagos that are up to the task of catering for our President.

1.SAINT NICHOLAS

Saint Nicholas is one of Nigeria’s foremost private hospitals founded in 1968 by the former Minister of Health in the First Republic, Moses Majekodunmi. With four branches in Lagos, Saint Nicholas boasts a variety of Medical Services on offer such as General Medicine, Cardiology, Maternity, Dermatology, Dialysis and a host of other services. With experience and expertise on its side, surely Saint Nicholas has the medical know-how to get our president back on his feet. You can visit their website here.

2. REDDINGTON

Reddington is a specialist hospital in Lagos. Formerly affiliated with Cromwell Hospital in London, it was established in 2006 and has a branch in Victoria Island as well as Ikeja. Reddington Hospital is known for it’s expensive healthcare costs but it’s wide range of medical equipments, and the talent of Doctors at its disposal make it a reliable hospital plus they have Gastroenterology(digestive diseases) the ailment affecting our dear President. You can visit their site here for more information.

3. BLUE CROSS

During the tail end of the former Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola, there was a massive renovation of various trunk b and trunk c roads in Agege and Ogba. It was in this period of repair and construction that I discovered Blue Cross Hospital, a hospital so successful and well patronized that despite being affected by government’s ongoing road construction(as it had to shut down it’s building cause there were building a drainage at it’s entrance) the hospital first rented half of a hotel in the same environs and later on the full hotel.

4. GOLD CROSS

Gold Cross Hospital has two branches in Lagos, there’s one at Bourdillon,Ikoyi and another at Ikeja. This expensively equipped hospital offers the whole ten yards of healthcare services from physiotherapy to M.R.I to Dialysis Services to Maternity Service and a host of other medical services. The hospital is comfortable and relaxed and in a serene environment but we know it’s the Doctors that make a hospital and not the equipments, but on the surface value of the equipments and range of medical services offered, this is a hospital that could nurture President Buhari to full health. More information about Gold Cross Hospital like their address, scheduling an appointment etc can be gotten here.
