Wife drives husband back to jail 2 hours after he was mistakenly released

A 38-year-old man identified as James Rynerson was driven back to jail by his wife after he was mistakenly released.

According to Independent UK, Rynerson’s identity was mixed up with that of another prisoner in Mesa Country Jail, Colorado, where he was remanded and awaiting trial on menacing, disorderly conduct and trespass charges.

After being mistakenly freed, the young man seized the opportunity to run home to his wife but unfortunately she drove him back to jail barely two hours after he got home.

It was further reported that Rynerson was temporarily joined by another prisoner, Marvin March, 35. However, March was moved to another cell but the jails’s housing list did not reflect this transfer. So, when March’s release was due, the warder went to Rynerson’s cell and freed the only person he saw in there.

The County’s sheriff, Henry Stoffel, is currently investigating the issue as to why the warder freed the wrong inmate without taking time to check his wristband and picture. He added that the housing policy will also be updated.

However, in addition to the accusations of menacing, disorderly conduct and trespass, Rynerson now faces charges of escape, forgery and criminal impersonation.
