One Ruka Tayo, 38 and her friend, Jimoh Abiola, 35, were brought before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court on Friday, March 12, on a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy to commit an offence and assault.
It was gathered that Ruka and her friend ganged up to up her former husband’s new wife at the residence of her former husband in Ikorodu, five years after their divorce.
The two defendants pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge and the Magistrate, Mrs R. A. Onilogbo, admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N50,000 each, with two sureties each in like sum and adjourned the case till March 31, for mention.
The Prosecutor, ASP Gbemileke Agoi had told the court that the defendants committed the offences on Feb. 26 at about 4:p.m at Road 7, Mowowole Estate, Oreta Igbogbo area of Ikorodu after Ruka invited her friend and they both beat up Mrs Adeyemi Morenikeji, at her husband’s residence because she married the former husband.
He said the offences contravened the provisions of Sections 412 and 172 of Criminal Law of Lagos, 2015.
